“I’ve never had so many members come up to me and praise the lecturer as happened tonight. It was a superbly well planned and timed talk with excellent commentary. It was fascinating to see the components of each composite image in the second half. The quality of the images was impeccable throughout. If only all lectures were as well crafted.” Member of Durham Photographic Society.

“Your talk for Chester Photographic Society was one of the best received, possibly the very best received, in a season where we frequently commented on the high standard of talks. The immediate reaction to ‘Overcoming obstacles’ was “we need to get her back!” and we would be delighted to have you back for your talk ‘Promoting Passion’.” Member of Chester Photographic Society.

“Your Promoting Passion talk last night to Edinburgh Photographic Society was probably the best talk I’ve ever attended in 20+ years of being involved with camera clubs. I watched and listened in awe. As well as the content of your talk being so interesting, your ‘de-construction’ was perfectly explained and your delivery was superb and brilliantly paced. You have completely blown my mind with your modesty and talent in an area of photography which until last night sometimes felt like an alien world………it was beyond awesome.” Member of North Berwick Photographic Society

“You showed us many examples of various genres, explaining why and how they were achieved and the thought that had gone into their creation. Your ‘created’ images showed a wonderful grasp of technique to achieve memorable pictures and you demonstrated a realistic and challenging regard to judging and judges. Your thoughts and emotions about the photographing of young ladies (and not so young) will have given much food for thought to our members for family and friends. All in all a wonderful and thought provoking evening which we all benefited from.” Member of Maidstone Camera Club.

“Jo showed us numerous examples of her exquisite work during the evening and kept us entertained with a lively and highly articulate narrative. She is a talented and creative photographer who has faced numerous obstacles in her life. Her determination and dedication in overcoming these to achieve such recognition and success in the photographic world is an example to us all.”

(Her) “images of social commentary and personal tribulation show Jo to be an outstandingly unique photographer with a gift of being able to translate the stories conceived in her mind into striking creative fine art representations. She certainly lives up to her mantra of Have The Courage To Tell Your Own Story and the exquisite and moving photographs that we were treated to in her presentation certainly justified the enthusiastic reception she was given by members at the end of an unforgettable evening.” Press statements from Keswick Photographic Society.

“Can I thank you once again for a brilliant talk last night. I know from comments made to me by members that your story and achievements both touched and inspired everyone.  I know we tend to use the word “inspiration” a little too glibly at times, but it is sincerely meant this time…… I do hope you can provide us with your follow-up talk next season”.
“I also would like to add my own thanks for your very open and honest presentation. It was a thoroughly engaging and inspirational evening; can’t wait to hear what the sequel brings!” North Fylde Photographic Society.
