I’ve had my fair share of relationships with toxic people. The takers, controllers, abusers, the narcissists, bullies and liars. I asked myself for a long time why I was choosing these people to be in my life before I realised I wasn’t choosing them, they were choosing me.

Light illuminates darkness and the brighter the light the more of the darkness it takes in.

Liars are drawn to truth tellers. Bullies to the kind. Cruelty to the caring. Narcissists to Empaths. Takers to givers. Controllers to free spirits. Abusers to the loving and forgiving.

Like moths to a flame, darkness is attracted to the light. Round and round the flame they go, obsessively circling. Not daring to get too close but unable to stay away. Then when they realise that in order to become one with the light they have to sacrifice the darkness they fearfully retreat back to the familiar shadows or vengefully try to extinguish the flame. However, their behaviour has no impact on the light, which simply does what it has always done………shine.
