It’s been a long, but really enjoyable day. I was one of the official photographers for the Windermere Marathon and had to set off at 7am to get in place before the road closures took place. I’ve photographed paintballing fun runs before but this was my first Marathon and, to be fair, I thought it was going to be a bit boring but it was really good fun.
The weather was perfect, being dry, warm (but not hot), with no direct sunshine to cause exposure havoc and horrible contrasts, and the crack with all the runners was great. I was at the bottom of the hill doing long shots and Simon was at the top doing close ups. The plan was to do that for half an hour each then swap but the runners just kept coming so we had to stay put. Here are a few of my favourites from the day:
The drive home was a bit of a mare, as I followed the runners for the first 5 miles then because the A592 was closed for the marathon the A590 was rammed. However, I got back in the end and uploaded my 300+ pictures to the photography portal.
I’m now ready for dinner – I’m evil when I’m hungry 😂
