I can’t remember which post I wrote about this in, but I mentioned a few months ago that I had a song going round and round in my brain. It was ‘Sexy Love’ by Ne-Yo which isn’t something I would ordinarily listen to and I had no idea why, for some weeks, it was suddenly an ear worm in my brain.
Then I received, out of the blue, a Whatsapp message from a guy I had one date with last year. He was overtly flirtatious and sent me graphic messages following our date, so needless to say I did not agree to a second date. I don’t usually block people on my phone, I don’t like the energy of that, but deleted his number. I then, months later, received this text from him simply asking how I was doing. I didn’t respond to the message and immediately the Sexy Love ear worm stopped playing in my noggin.
I’m one of those people who constantly have music subtly playing in the background of my mind, along with a verbal commentary. As I type this I have Let Your Love Flow by The Bellamy Brothers, which I’ll share with you as it’s lovely. However, sometimes a song plays in my head that is really loud and insistent and I’ve come to recognise that it’s a sign I’m picking up on someone else’s mental or emotional energy.
Again, I can’t remember which post I wrote about this in but back in May I woke one Monday morning with John Mayer’s ‘XO’ playing in my head. It was there all week and by the Saturday morning was really loud. It was one of my ex boyfriend’s and my songs and I suddenly remembered that that day was the anniversary of his Wife’s death and he would either physically be in Cumbria or at the very least his energy and consciousness would be.
When we were dating I’d often suddenly get one of ‘our songs’ pop into my head which was so loud it would interrupt my normal mental functioning and it was always a sign he was thinking about me. I tested this theory out many times and he’d admit “I’ve been obsessing over you all day. I obsess about you a lot”.
What I can’t work out is why I’m being given this information. What am I supposed to do with it? In the case of the man I had the date with it was a heads up that he was going to contact me, but I couldn’t prevent him from contacting me so I’m not sure what the point was. And in the case of my ex it’s no business of mine where he is or what he’s doing and the fact he may, occasionally, think of me is fairly normal as most of us still think of our exs especially in the fairly early days after we’ve broken up.
If anyone can shed some light on why I might be being given this information please drop a comment below, because I’m baffled 🤷🏻♀️
