IPA 2026

I was informed this week that all 3 of my entries into this year’s International Photography Awards has made it through to the finals. I’m chuffed to little bits, particularly as I enter the Professional category despite being a rank amateur 😊 To hold my own amongst people who photograph Royalty and celebrities, take pictures from war torn countries and whose livelihood is made solely from photography is such a confidence boost and I think I needed a bit of a confidence boost just at the mo.

‘Burning My Bridges’ has been awarded in the People/Self Portrait category, ‘Defiant’ in the People/portrait category, and ‘Lies’ in the Fine Art/Collage category. Click each thumbnail to view the images and a brief outline of the inspiration behind each picture on the IPA website.

The category winners will be announced later in August and I don’t expect to win any of my categories, but to receive an Honourable Mention and to have my work recognised on such an international stage is already more than my wildest dreams when I’m wearing a wig and taking selfies in my little photo room in the middle of a Cumbrian winter or sat in bed in my pjs creating pictures on my laptop – it’s all a bit surreal! All finalists are invited to the IPA awards gala, which last year was held in Athens, Greece, and has their name listed in a coffee table book.
