Vibrational Intimacy

Our romantic partnerships are different to any other relationship we have in our lives due to the fact they contain physical intimacy, and because of the physical intimacy there is an emotional intimacy which we don’t experience with anyone else. There is a difference between love, even the deep and unconditional love we have for our children, and being in-love.

I admit that my intimate relationships for many years were unfulfilling. Not that some of the guys I had relationships with weren’t lovely, they were or why else would I be with them, but I felt a deep sense of loneliness and disconnection from every single one. It’s only through much personal development work, discovering my trait of High Sensitivity and honouring my intellectual, intuitive and empathic gifts that I realise I simply wasn’t vibrating on the same energy frequency as these men.

As I explained in my post on vibrational harmony, it’s almost impossible to explain what a matched vibrational frequency is like and I can only describe my own experience which may differ from someone else’s, but I’ll give it a go gauche as the attempt may be.

When you meet a romantic partner with whom you share vibrational harmony there is mutual intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical attraction.

Your minds are in tune and you find each other stimulating and interesting. You share similar spiritual beliefs. There is intense physical chemistry, no matter what age you may be. And you are mutually able to be emotionally vulnerable in complete safety.

The relationship is effortless and flows with little drama. That’s not to say you won’t disagree, have to compromise or sometimes fall out but there is no blocking, threatening to leave, silences, rages, need for space or other harmful behaviours – you talk it through until you both reach a state of attunement. There is deep respect and integrity, both of each other and the relationship.

There is a desire to know your partner, and have them know you, on a deeply intimate level. This, of course, requires devoted trust. Your partner’s pain is your pain, your partner’s happiness is your happiness, and vice versa.

For me, being in a romantic relationship with someone with whom I share an energy connection is a profoundly sensual experience. There is a desire to touch and be touched, not only sexually but in everyday interactions. When I’m with someone whose Soul energy I can sense it’s magnetic, intoxicating.

Sharing spiritual practices, like mediation, is an intensely vulnerable and bonding experience. I’ve had mediations where we have shown up in each other’s consciousness and discussed our experiences afterwards, which has immeasurably strengthened our bond.

It may be that you don’t share hobbies or friends, especially if you meet when you are more mature, but even when apart you still feel deeply connected to your mate. You may experience intuition, psychic phenomena or be able to feel their emotions from miles away. You feel uniquely attuned to your partner and they to you.

So many couples it seems to me, and the divorce rate backs this up, are lacking in deep connection. We know something is missing but we have no clue what and, for me at least, the missing aspect was on the Soul level – no couples therapist is going to be able to find or fix that.

Harmonious vibrational romantic relationships are not common. In fact, I’d say they’re pretty rare, so if you find one you are indeed blessed. They are enriching on an intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical level and bring both an abundance of joy and a deep peace. They allow each person to expand and grow individually but also the relationship to expand and grow as a partnership. Separate yet One in mind, body and Soul. Home. Divine.
