Keswick Photographic Society’s print Exhibition is now open at the Theatre by the Lake, closing on Tuesday 28th July. We hope there is something for everyone.

Both our beginners and more experienced photographers have contributed to the Exhibition. For some it’s the first time their work has been seen outside of the Camera Club environment, which is both exciting and nerve wracking!

I’ve been a Camera Club member now for well over a decade. I started as a total novice who had only just bought my first camera and have advanced to become a Master of Print, be exhibited in both London and Beijing and online in 22 other countries, and now have several photographic distinctions. I wouldn’t have done any of it without my Club.

Keswick is a small but highly experienced Camera Club, one of the most successful in the UK – we punch well above our weight 😊. But we also run beginners programmes, with more experienced photographers giving back the help and support they received when they first started out. We are most known for our excellent wildlife photography, but also have members who enjoy portraiture, street photography, travel photography, landscape photography, intentional camera movement and creative fine art.

Being a very rural area in the Lake District, some members struggle to physically attend weekly Camera Club meetings so we also conduct most meetings via Zoom. You could join from anywhere in the country – in fact, two of our members Zoom in from Northern Ireland!

We meet from September to April and our programme is a mix of talks, competitions (no pressure to enter) and software evenings. We have an extended summer break to allow us time to take pictures while the weather is (hopefully) good, but do organise informal trips out as a group to various events and locations.
