Some boring admin before I start this post. I’ve now, hopefully, separated both blogs on my website. If you are currently subscribed you will be notified of every new post, both for my Photography blog and my new Spirit & Soul blog. If you only want to be notified about new posts to one of the blogs you will need to unsubscribe (using the link in any email or via your WordPress Reader dashboard), and re-subscribe to just the blog you want (Photography here or just to Soul & Spirit here). If you’d like to continue to be notified of posts to both blogs you don’t have to do a thing. Right, on to more exciting topics!
I have had the most amazing day. As some of my followers know, I belong to a group for Highly Sensitive People called the IF Crowd interested in exploring high empathy, creativity, intuition and extra-sensory phenomenon run by psychologist, parapsychologist and psychic researcher Kirsty Allan. Kirsty is also a member of Wyrd, a team running the world’s only interactive consciousness lab at Broughton Sanctuary near Skipton in Yorkshire.
Wyrd carries on the work of the PEAR laboratory based at Princeton University from 1979-2007. PEAR explored whether human consciousness can directly influence the physical world and some of the original random event generators from the PEAR lab are now housed at Wyrd. Over 12 years and more than 1,000 experimental series, PEAR’s studies showed statistically significant deviations from chance when human operators attempted to mentally influence REG outputs. More on PEAR here.
Each week, people interested in exploring consciousness and extra-sensory phenomenon attend Wyrd, both to meet other weirdos and to have fun exploring energy and consciousness using various equipment and techniques. Today, we had a demonstration on how to use the mind to influence solid matter by way of bending cutlery.

Out of a group of about 12 people in the room and 2 on Zoom in other countries, 6 managed to bend a spoon or fork while the rest, like me, failed miserably. However, as someone who is Highly Sensitive I really struggled to switch off from the stimulus of all the other people in the room and ‘tune in’ to my mind and energy, so I decided to have another bash when I got home and I could concentrate in the quiet. On my first two attempts I was still unable to exert any influence over my spoon, but on attempt number three I could feel it start to give way and suddenly it just……went 😮 I’m now one spoon down out of my cutlery drawer but I was so stoked to be able to bend it I couldn’t care less!
Even weirder, I took 3 photos and was looking through them to decide which one to post. In this one, a shimmering silver ‘aura’ appeared around me when I looked at it. I thought it was a problem with my phone or something so navigated away then went back – and it appeared again, right before my eyes. And on the 3rd visit. And the 4th. Absolutely mental 😮
I met some awesome people today. I have hidden my interest in Psi phenomena all my life and it is so exciting to finally be able to discuss and explore everything spiritual, energy and consciousness related with other like minded people.
I seem to have had a lot of signs and synchronicities happen in the past year (more on that in my next post) but I’ll give an example from today. The IF Crowd meet once a month or so on Zoom, with participants from all over the globe including an American lady named Lee. Lee had a British Mum and last week moved from America to live in England. I didn’t know she was going to be at Wyrd today and she had no clue I was going either, but when we met we hugged like old friends. Even though we’ve never spoken directly to each other on Zoom we both said today that we feel a pull towards each other – neither of us have any clue why.
I’m becoming much more attuned to my signs and ‘pulls’ towards situations and people. When I met my Twin Flame ex he admitted he used to obsessively think about me and I could often pick up on that from 50 miles away. A certain song used to start playing in my head and I came to recognise that was the sign he was obsessing over me. The past month I’ve had another tune playing on repeat. I even woke at 2am last night with it going round and round in my noggin and find myself dancing to it in the kitchen more days than I care to admit. It’s not a song I own or would ever choose to play (in fact I’m quite embarrassed to share exactly which song it is 😳) but one particular line replays like an ear worm: “Keep me sprung, keep me running back to you”. I have no clue what that’s all about so if anyone out there can shed some light please let me know because until I can figure it out I don’t think it’s going to bog off!
I find all this weirdness absolutely fascinating and am excited to see where the direction I’m being steered in leads and how it fits in with my Spiritual and Soul growth.
