I was chatting to someone the other day who told me they believed in Fairies. I also know people who believe in Angels, Demons, even Alien abductions, and when they talk about these concepts I listen politely, all the while thinking to myself you are bonkers, get a grip on reality.

Humans have vivid imaginations and we are prone, as a species, to influence from cult and group think. A small section of the population believe, for example, that they were somehow born in the wrong body and that despite being male they are female because they have the ‘lady feels’. They are so entrenched in this delusion that in 2025 some of these men took actual women to the UK Supreme Court to try and prove their point. They failed, obviously, because nobody is born in the ‘wrong’ body (who has their ‘right’ body?), being male or female is a reproductive strategy not a feeling and humans cannot change their sex, but the brainwashing inside the gender cult is so strong that reality is a long forgotten concept.
I’ve had some wonderful experiences while meditating, but I also know I have a very vivid imagination (that’s why I’m so creative) and that my amazing brain could simply be conjuring up the scenarios I wish to see. Consequently, I need beliefs which are based on tangible evidence.
Proof of concept is why I like remote viewing, for example. I try to intuit a card or a scene and I can be proved either right or wrong. Even in more spiritual experiences I need proof before I can believe. With my ex-boyfriend there were far too many coincidences, signs & synchronicities, let alone unexplainable experiences, for me to ignore the fact that we had a soul/energy connection. That I wrote down a lucid dream I had of him then could produce that as proof when he recounted the exact same dream is tangible evidence that we had inhabited the same external consciousness space despite both of us being asleep and unconscious. I have physically manifested text messages from him. Have known when he was experiencing strong emotions or was thinking of me because I was able to contact him and ask.
I believe in re-incarnation of our Soul/Sprit/consciousness (call it whatever you like) because of the experience I had as a small child, when I had recurring dreams of being a Soldier in WW1. I could tell you what I was wearing (despite having no knowledge of WW1 dress uniform as a 6 year old) and could recount the prison guards speaking German (despite having not been taught any German). I’ve continued to have the same dream of being captured by the Germans, interred in a military prison and being killed trying to escape my entire life.
I have no belief in a God because there is no proof that a God exists. Yet I believe in Universal Energy because energy can be physically felt, seen and measured (if you have the right equipment). I don’t believe in Angels or Demons as there is no proof that they exist, but I believe that humans can have Light or Dark energy which can be measured by their actions. Anyone believing in Fairies or Aliens has been eating too many magic mushrooms 😉
I consider myself to be a strongly spiritual person, but I am also grounded in reality. I’m not knocking anyone who doesn’t need tangible proof of a concept before they can believe in it, just saying that it’s not for me. I spent my entire childhood dissociating into magical Kingdoms of giants and chairs with wings that could fly but it was make-believe and escapism not reality. The beliefs which underpin my life have to be tangible, provable concepts not merely how I wish my world were.
I continue to explore. I’ve met some amazing and lovely people. But I remain on my own path, doing what feels right and true for me. I ask the hard questions. I take notice of my gut instincts. I remain a Goat not a Sheep. As we all should.
